Chapter 4

Ashley woke up in bed alone. She could smell something wonderful coming from downstairs. She got up and opened her suitcase and took out a floral dress. She put it on and went downstairs to find her husband cooking her favourite breakfast; blueberry pancakes. He saw her and walked to her and kissed her.

“Good morning my beautiful wife. Have a goodnight sleep?” he asked her smiling.
“I had a dream about you.”
“Really? What was it about?”
“We were in a cabin. I think it might be a memory of when we were younger.” She said as she took a plate and sat down to eat.
“Really? Was it in the woods? We met there a lot.”
“Yes! It was!”
“What happened in that memory? In that cabin a lot of things happened…” he said grinning.
“We heard a noise; you said it was maybe Chris outside… Who is Chris?”
“Oh, Chris… He was an old friend of mine when we were teenagers. He liked you, a lot.”
“He would spy on us?”
“Sometimes…”
“That’s creepy.”
“He was a troubled teenager… but he was a good kid.”
“What happened to him?”
“He went in a lot of places for his health but now he’s as normal as can be, married actually.”
“Wow, we should meet him after our honeymoon. Maybe I’ll recognize his face.”
“I think you would recognize him.”

He always knew how to make her feel as if she hadn’t forgotten anyone or anything. She had loved that he always took care of her, inside and out.

“What do you feel like doing today?” he asked her.
“Let’s go for a walk. It’s so pretty outside.”
“Done.”

They watched each other as they finished their meals.
