Beaulieu, England 1787 A body has been found in the river. And a monster has been sighted near the village. William Saville, a barrister from Lyndhurst, is determined to find out who committed such a crime. Meanwhile the village's quacksalver, Dr. Henry, sets his sights on capturing the monster. But as the men pursue their endeavours, they realize things in the village are far worse than they seem. From hidden rooms to a mysterious plague doctor, dark secrets unravel in the humble, English village.
