Chapter 1- Starting New

Davina woke up with a gust of wind blowing on her arms. Causing her to get goosebumps. This is how she has been waking up for the past week, not knowing why. Whenever this happens Davina checks every room in the house. Making sure her sister and father are okay. That’s what all really matters the most to her. Davina hadn’t told Bella yet. Even though that’s the only person who knows our secret. She didn’t want to freak her little sister out. All she did was lay in bed with her just in case she has the same nightmares.
*I make sure Bella has me by her side whenever she falls asleep and whenever she wakes up. I don’t want her to have the same feeling everyday. I feel death is and fear. I just sense it. Every night for the past week.*
It was time for Davina to get ready for school. She hopped in the shower and then got dressed. She wore cute high wasted bell bottoms, a lose mint green silk tank top, and converses. She said goodbye to her father and sister.
*I really wish that Bella was a freshman, I can’t stand that we’re not at the same school. I feel like it’s my job to protect her. Mom left me with her secret so that I can use it to protect everyone, so that’s what I have to do. I got to school. I immediately started to shiver. Something bad is about to happen. I starred at the door knowing the person who was making me shiver was just about to walk in. But to my surprise it was just a tall young man. He looked about my age. But why was he causing me to shiver? After class me and my friend (Mackenzie) went to the courtyard to start on some homework and assignments. Across from us was the boy again. He was reading, alone. “Davina? Davina? You are shivering and have goose bumps all over you... are you okay?” “Yes. Yes. I’m fine, sorry.” I wasn’t fine that boy was giving me bad vibes. I have to know why.*
Davina approaches the boy in the court yard. She looked very nervous but wanted to look independent and strong. “Hey...uh... excuse me? Are you new here?” “Oh yes I am. My name is Elijah!” The boy says as he sticks out his hand for a shake. “My name is Davina.” The look on Elijah’s face looked frightened. But he still held out his hand waiting for a response. Davina wasn’t sure if it was a good idea to shake his hand but she did anyway. She got the same feeling as she did the morning, and every morning for the past 7 days.
*When I touched Elijah’s cold hand I felt death. It wasn’t it good feeling. I knew I had to do whatever it took to keep Bella and my father Hendrix away.
