He's A God

Dylan

I am running through a dark forest. I can hear the branches breaking under my bare feet. I can feel the sting of the small cuts from rocks and twigs I am getting, but I can’t stop. I need to get away. I run faster and faster. I feel like my lungs are going to explode. I can barely see anything in front of me. I feel the branches brush against my arms and legs. I didn’t have a chance to put on anything besides these shorts and a tank top. My hair sticks to my skin because the sweat and dirt are caked on my feet and legs. I glance at my hands quickly and can see that they have blood on them. Is this my blood?

I can hear footsteps pounding the ground behind me. He is close. I move left and right, trying to weave through the trees to get away and find somewhere I can hide, but I can’t see anything. I am running blind, and I feel like I am going in circles. I can still hear him behind me. I can hear him taunting me. He knows exactly where I am, even though it is pitch black.

I stumble just a bit, and I almost cry out from the pain in my knee. It is going to slow me down a bit, but I need to get away. My adrenaline is pumping through my body, and it helps me not feel all the pain I am in. I can see a big tree, and my hope swells. Hopefully, I can hide behind it and catch my breathe and form a plan to get away.

When I turn to hide behind the tree, I feel someone grab me, “Gotcha!” I scream out loud, and a hand covers my mouth harshly.

I gasp awake. I can feel my heart pounding in my chest. I look around quickly and relax a bit. I am in the hospital. I take deep breaths to slow my heart rate. It was just a dream, it was just a dream, well, more like a nightmare. I repeat to myself over and over. I need to calm down. I reach over to take some sips of water.

After I calm down a bit, I look at the clock and see that I was only asleep for a few hours. Just as I am about to press the call button for the nurse, my door swings open.

The first man who walks into the room is tall. If I were standing next to him, I would have to crane my neck up a bit to look at him. He has black hair, brown eyes, and brown skin. Behind him, I see another man, but I can’t make him out because he is somewhat covered by the broad shoulders of the first man.

When they both get closer, I can fully see the second man, and my breath hitches. This is the most handsome man that I have ever laid eyes on. I can feel my stomach tightening from just the sight of him. He is very tall, probably like 6′2, a few inches taller than the first man. He has brownish/red hair, pale skin, and the most beautiful blue eyes. I could get lost in them. He also has a very toned body. His shoulders aren’t as broad as the first man's, but his muscles seem larger. They are straining in the suit he is wearing. He must work out daily. As I check him out, I can see him smirk at me. He must know that I am staring at him. I can feel my cheeks burn from embarrassment, and I quickly look away.

The first man clears his throat. “Hi Miss, my name is Detective Jones, and this is my partner Detective O’Conner. Would it be alright if we asked you a few questions?” Detective Jones brings out a little notepad and pen, but Detective O’Conner stares at me with his arms crossed over his chest. I nod my head and try not to look at this god-like man standing in my room.

“The Dr we spoke with mentioned that you don’t remember your name. Is that still the case?” Detective Jones asks. His voice is deep and rough, but he has a calming effect in his voice.

I nod my head. I feel so helpless that I can’t even remember something so simple as my name.

“That’s alright. Do you remember anything that happened?”

“Uhm, no, I don’t remember anything that’s happened to me.” I try to sound confident, but I fail. I can feel the tears prick my eyes.

“Ok. We will give you some time and then we will come back to ask you again. Here is my card. If you do recall anything, call me immediately, no matter what time it is.” His voice is firm.

“Ok, I will.” I breathe out.

He gets up from the chair and walks out the door. I shift my gaze to detective O’Conner expecting him to leave as well, but he stands there and stares at me. I slightly raise one brow. Silently asking him if he is going to leave as well. He takes a step closer to me and reaches in his jacket pocket. I frown slightly and try to shrink back a little. I know he won’t hurt me, but I am still unsure what he will do.

He pulls out a card and holds it out so I can grab it. “Here is my card as well. You can call me at any time and for any reason. I’ll answer.” He winks at me. His voice is deep and smooth. It makes my core throb. He is the sexiest man.

I reach out to grab it, and when I pull it back, I can feel his fingers brush against mine, and I feel an electric shock. I gasp slightly. What the hell was that? His eyes widen slightly, so I know he felt it too.

“I’ll be back in a few days. Call me.” He winks again and turns to leave, but I stop him. I blush slightly.

“Wait, Detective O’Conner, Did they find any of my belongings? A purse or bag or anything?” I ask quietly. He stares at me for a moment, so I’m unsure if he heard me.

“No, they didn’t find anything with you. Just the clothes you were wearing.”

“Was it a tank top and shorts?” My heartbeat rises a bit. Was the dream I had real?

He looks slightly shocked. “How would you know that? Didn’t you say you couldn’t remember?” He takes a couple of steps closer to me.

“Uhm. I was taking a guess.” I look away from him. I don’t want to tell him about my dream yet.

“Hmm.” He frowns a little bit. ″I hope to hear from you.” He nods, turns, and walks out the door before giving me a chance to answer.

I need to take deep breaths. I feel hot all over. I grab my water and finish it quickly. Hopefully, it will cool me off after my encounter with that fine-ass man.
