“Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognize how good things really are.” – Marianne Williamson
So now it’s back to figuring out where we will live next. Simon needs to stay in the area. As he is still working part-time, it makes more sense for him to stay here and continue to work. But he needs a room for $500 or less in South OC. It’s so ridiculous a concept, we admit, but we put this intention out to the Universe anyway and then we just let it go.
We start talking to family and friends, but no one has a spare room at all, let alone for $500. It seems pretty remote that something will materialize.
And, then, it happens, out of the blue. I’m getting a massage from a friend, who is a fabulous massage therapist and, even better, he lets me pay in installments, which is the only way I can manage getting a massage these days. Although I desperately needed a massage after all the angst over our living situation, I wasn’t even sure I could splurge on an installment-plan massage. But I wanted to honor my physical body and release all the stress of the past few months. So, as my masseuse is kneading the knots out of my neck and upper back, I mention that Simon is looking for a room for around $500.
Instead of hearing peals of laughter in response, lo and behold, my masseuse thinks he might know of exactly what we’re looking for. He has a long-time client in the area with a renter who is just about to move out. The rent? $500. Eureka! He says he will talk to her and tell her about Simon.
A few days later he calls, and voila, Simon has just landed a $500 room in Laguna Beach. We are so grateful! Another huge shout out to the Universe! And, renewed faith in the power of manifestation.
There is a palpable feeling of relief now between Simon and me as this most arduous decision is behind us. And, now, we really feel like it was the right decision. Moving out of this apartment, into places where we each have our own space, should create more space in our relationship as well. Space to explore new opportunities, new paradigms, and see where we end up. Hopefully, it will be back in OC sometime next year.
