The Edge
She sat on the edge
And looked at her toes,
Glanced over her fingers
Holding that rose.
She looked out
So far above the city,
It's a shame her friends
Never saw the pity.
Her eyes so dark
Never had they seemed so red,
Lack of sleep only confirmed
Her want to be dead.
She was crying so much
She forgot all she had seen,
The joy and happiness
When she had felt like a queen.
She sat on the edge
And had a breakdown,
The memories of her mind
Echoing through that frown.
She tried looking to focus
On something out there,
Her mind went wandering
Leaving her eyes to stare.
Her empty gaze
That look of pain,
No concentration left
It had all been slain.
She slipped off the edge
Her body fell,
Beauty and grace
Finally lost through hell.
