Chapter 26

I hadn't spoken to Hunter much after what he told me. After him finally getting dressed, a little bit disappointing, he dropped me off home where I have gone straight to my room and not come out of for the last few days. Luckily it's a bank holiday so I haven't missed any of school, not that I would do that anyway.

I haven't seen much of my mum either, sure she has been home from work and stuff but, I have hardly seen her. She's been working so hard lately just to keep up with all the payments and as Christmas is coming up she's just trying to save up any money she can.

I smiled as I looked out the window as my favourite season had finally arrived. Autumn, it was just the right amount of cold and all the trees looked beautiful in the dying daylight. The sunset casted and orange glow across the leaves and created a hue of colours that made me feel warm on the inside. I sighed from where I was sat on my bed and decided I could do with getting out this room and getting some fresh air.

Yes, I know Autumn starts in September but, the leaves don't really start to change colours till about November.

Getting dressed in black skinny jeans and an off white jumper I grabbed my warmest coat and a beanie to hide my bedridden hair made my way out the door making sure to lock up as I left.

The sun was setting quickly so I made a mental note to myself to not be too long as I started my stroll. Walking down the street I could feel the crunch of the leaves under my feet and it made me happy on the inside knowing that my favourite time is here.

Coming to my usual route I take a left instead of a right because I just wanted to try something different. Just trying to leave the old me behind a bit. Be this new confident girl who can take different routes. The wind has picked up a bit and I can feel my nose starting to run as the cold slaps me in the face one more time. Reddening my cheeks and nose further. Right now I resemble Rudolph and I'm not feeling too confident about that. Nevertheless, I carry on walking through the November cool crisp air letting it nibble away at my flesh like little fish. It was getting darker quicker than I thought it would and I had a horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach that someone was watching me.

I quicken my pace and looked behind me but there was no one there just a few cars parked on the street and a cat meowing in the distance. I tried to calm my breathing and my racing heart but they were out of control as I heard footsteps behind me. I was about to turn the corner when a hand grabbed my shoulder. I screamed until I turned around and saw who was behind me.

Drew was stood there, he had a hard gleam in his eyes and that frightens me down the core. He made my bones rattle they way he was looking at me I heard Hunter's warning and story ring through my head like a bullet as a vice-like a grip was wrapped around my arm. Drew pulled me towards a black SUV that I hadn't noticed was parked at the end of the street. It was only when we were halfway towards it that I unfroze and realised what was going to happen and I started to kick and scream before I was hit on the back with a blunt heavy object and everything went black.

I woke up and I felt like death. There was a thumping in the back of my head as if my brain had become my heart. It was pitch black and I couldn't see what was in front of me. I felt the restraints on my wrist and legs binding me to my chair. There was nothing but darkness, and darkness was my enemy and my friend. He blinded me from the horrors and yet he blinded me from the light.

I struggled against the binds only for them to become tighter and to bite into my soft flesh and enjoy their meal more. A soft whimper came out of my mouth but, in the darkness, it sounded like a roar.

I don't know how long I sat there, maybe 5 minutes, maybe an hour but, after all that time had passed there was a click and the lights came bursting on.

Blinded by the lights my eyes snapped shut protecting me. When my eyes finally opened I took in my surroundings. I was in a big warehouse or aircraft hanger type thing that had chains hanging from the ceiling. There were high beams and metal walls. Looking down at myself I saw that I was only in my jumper and trousers. My coat and beanie had disappeared.

For the first time, I looked around me and noticed a group of people, mostly males but there were a few females dotted here and there. They all had the same look on their faces and I didn't like that. In the middle stood Drew, he was holding a knife and a gun was pinned down to his thigh.

His face flushed when he saw me but, it was something sinister. He walked towards me ever so slowly toying with the knife until he was in front of me and the knife was pressed to my skin.
