Hi everyone,

I hope this message find you well. It’s not a happy message, but it’s one that needs to be shared. My family is extremely supportive in my endeavors with writing and exploring the world of literature. I have an incredible support system to lean on and it’s been quite the journey so far.

Unfortunately, it’s been brought to my attention that a good portion of this book has been plagiarized into another story. Word for word. Same format and all. I found this information out last night and wanted to share this with you as soon as I figured out a game plan.

I’m angry, upset, confused, sad and many other emotions all at the same time. I spend countless hours writing and editing and thinking of ways to develop the plot line into a good story worthy of you reading it. Then to find out that there is someone who has the gall to steal someone else’s hard work is absolutely repulsive.

There are only so many characters and locations and conversations that can be copied out of coincidence before it becomes your story and as of right now, my story is in someone else’s name. They wait patiently until I update so they can steal that as well. So if you’re reading this, and you probably are, that’s fine. You may think you have the upper hand by praying on innocent writers for content so you can steal it as your own, but you don’t. I won’t sit idly by and let you do this quietly because that’s now who I am. I work for everything I have including this book and all the love and support it receives. You certainly do not.

So, what do we do now? Well, honestly I’m not very sure. I do have friends in the legal world and intend to pursue immediate action. I know these things make take time, and while this is happening, I plan to remove the story from public sites until completed. This is the only way I can ensure my work is safe and protected. Call me foolish for being naive, but the more it’s seen, the more it’s at risk for being plagiarized. Call it karma? I should have been more careful from the beginning with who sees it, so I guess this is a good lesson for me to learn, but I’m not stupid. This is something that cannot be overseen.

To my incredible and beautiful readers, I’ve told you once and I’ll tell you again that this isn’t the end of the road for this book. Yes, we’ve had our bumps and obstacles along the way so far but nothing that’s ever knocked us down for good. This is no different. The story will continue, but I fear that if I keep it up it can get stolen again. So for my story’s protection and the content I have worked tirelessly to make for you, I’m going to remove it temporarily. I’ll keep up what I already have for a week longer before removing it completely. If anyone wants to reread it before I take it down you’re more than happy to do so :) It’s the least I can do for all of you who have helped carry this story as far as it has come.

I will always be reachable by social media. Wether it’s on Inkitt, Wattpad or Instagram, I’ll be there to talk to or connect with. The one thing I will miss about posting each week is the reader interaction. Your comments crack me up and is no doubt the highlight of my days.

While my heart does break a ton writing this message, it’s also full thinking of the end game. We will be a success and it will be without the threats that loom over the story. Scarlette and Gage still have quite the wild ride ahead of them, and nothing will stop their story from competing.

Thank you for your endless love, patience and support. I love reading your comments and questions. Your opinions and ideas, what you think is coming next and what you want to see is so invigorating. I never thought that this story would receive as much support as it has and I couldn’t be more grateful.

You can keep up with me on my instagram:

I’ll be making frequent updates about the situation going on there. If you have any questions or want some updates on what’s happening legally, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Until we figure all this out, my hopes will stay high and I want to stay with you. I have a lot of faith and so much determination.

Always and forever,

and with much, much love,

DD196
