Ever since I could remember I have always thought God was real, but it turns out I believed in an entirely wrong version of him. We were all taught that he was this perfect, all-powerful creator. The one who could do no wrong, who would not stand any injustice. I don’t believe that anymore.
We were also taught that he made us in his image, and what are we but fragile, and pain-filled creatures. We are imperfect so how can we believe that the God who created us is?
I like to believe that in the past God was there with us, he corrected every wrong, saved us from our own evil but soon he realized that we were made with the potential to be evil. I mean look at what we’ve done to the world, that’s because we never had a chance.
But that’s not all, we are also the most loving, and some of us are truly trying to do good, be ethical, care for one another, and correct the wrongs others make.
I think that’s why God decided to step away, he realized that he made us in his image. That we will make mistakes, and that some of us will live a very painful life. As some of us forgot that they have the Good, as well as the Bad in them, and have instead decided to be full-on evil.
So what does this mean? What’s the point? See, I have always struggled with how to view God, how to not be mad at him when the world is so painful. But now I know that it has to be and that it’s not his fault or ours for that matter.
We can’t have the sweet with no sour, the good means nothing without the bad. We can’t be completely content with who we are if we don’t accept that to live in this world it means some of us must suffer.
All we can do now is be there for each other because at the end of the day people is all that matters.
