Mystic POV

Well, I’m off to the woods again. I absolutely hate being in meetings with my parents, they are so boring.

Thankfully they don’t mind me going off to wander the woods. I take my books and homework in my tote bag. I tried to convince my brother, Jason to come but he insisted that he needs to stay behind and watch over this meeting because one day he’ll be in the same position as our dad.

Fine by me. I head over to the trees and keep going straight. Most kids like me don’t really wander past our land. But I’m the adventurous type of kid.

I make it halfway into the woods when I spot a little river that’s connected to a waterfall. I dip my feet in and look around the area. It’s absolutely breathtaking. I wonder why no one has seen this area before.

I take out one of my favorite books and I start to read.

That was when I felt someone behind me. I look to see Asher. I know him but, I wasn’t close to him at all. He is my brother’s best friend. He came over to sit beside me.

“Hey Mystic watch reading”. He said.

“Oh, nothing just a Dr. Seuss book”.

“Hmm, boring, why are you out here by yourself in these woods for??”.

“Well, Asher I came out here to avoid that meeting our parents are having with the pack, I thought I was going to fall asleep”.

“I feel the same way”.

He dipped his feet in the water and sat really close to me. Way too close for comfort.

I looked at him confused.

“Asher, why are you really here then?”.

He pulled something out of his pocket and it was a daisy. I was surprised.

“I thought you would like this flower it reminded me of you”.

He handed it to me and I just looked at it.

“Oh, uh ok”.

As soon as I finished my sentence, he gave me a quick kiss on the lips and ran off.

I was so angry I chased after him. I ended up catching up to him and tackling him from behind.

“Why would you kiss me, Asher!”.

“What, I think you are a nice person, now let me go, you’re so heavy”. He started to flail his arms and legs to make me get off him.

I got off of him and he got up.

He dusted off any dirt he had on his clothes.

“I’ll see you in class Mystic”.

He turned around and ran off into the pack house.

I laughed, he was an interesting boy despite the fact that he was going to be the Alpha in the future.

But who would of know that after this day we would grow up to despise each other?

Something happened between us. I guess it was the fact that he was starting to get more and more popular around school that he forgot he knew I existed.

I tried saying hi to him but he would stare me down and ignore me.

But it was fine either way. I was used to being by myself. I didn’t have that many friends anyways.

Who knows if we will still be friends in the future?
