And Then There Were Eight
We were all waiting
To see what it was
For we were hating
Not knowing the cause
It was a strange sickness
That hit her like that
She lost all her thickness
Not one pound of fat
Now we were about to discover
How to fight this disease
And if my grandma could ever recover
Or if she'd leave us the keys
We were nine in the room
While the doctor was working
My parents said kids go resume
Your games of hiding and lurking
And so we went,
Me and my two sisters
With our parent's consent
To earn some new blisters
But once we came back
To the dark and gloomy room
They were all dressed in black
Wearing an expression of gloom
I saw her lying on the bed,
At peace with her fate
A few tears were shed,
And then there were eight.
