Today I did seven long hours of community service. First my mom and I went to Our Lady’s School in this rundown part of town. We painted their walls white and straightened up their classrooms. Then I got to go to Spreckels Theatre. It was so beautiful. It had three huge columns of seating and a huge stage. It was just like an old theatre; concave ceiling and everything. And paintings all around. On the ceiling too. It was so pretty. I thought of you, and wished to God that you were there with me. I just wanted to sit on the stage and gaze up at it and get lost in the scenery. I had tennis practice after that though, and it was not fun at all. My parents think I need to see a psychiatrist. They think it will get me to see things the way they do. They will not break me.
The surprise party you through for my 17th birthday was awesome! I loved it. Who knew people enjoyed book-themed parties. And you played all my favorite songs! You wore a button down shirt for the first time ever. It was blue-checkered. I loved it. We drank soda, and ate pizza, and danced. And at the end of the party we read together. It was so peaceful. So quiet. So perfect.I don’t even care that you didn’t find a present on time. You are the best present anyone could ever have.
