Chapter 7

June 12, 2013

Dear Luke,

Cheers to us! The first round of Finals are officially over. Unfortunately, I still have two more tomorrow, but I’m not too worried about them. I finished a book called Pathfinders by Orson Scott Card today, and I am going to start the second book, Ruins, after Finals. Ok. Ok. I’ll stop boring you and get to the big news.

So a few weeks ago, Mr. Frown (no joke that’s his actual name) challenged me to a tennis match. He said that if I win all the girls in the class get extra credit, and if he wins all the boys in the class get extra credit. And…..drum roll please? I won. I won. I won. I won. I wooooooonnnnnnn! It was so funny after he lost. His whole face was red, and you could see he was really angry; he tried to play it off like it was nothing. Mr.Frown is ironically a very nice teacher, but everyone has limits. Some of the other teachers were betting on who would win, so I guess that added to it.

So in English we had to watch the old version of Romeo and Juliet. It was terrible, nasty, and completely unsuitable for school. In one scene they had no clothes on.

Tomorrow is the last day of school, which is bittersweet, because now I have to spend more time with my brother and father. Unfortunately he’ll become to Salem Rich next year. So not fair. Oh well, no one said life was supposed to be fair.

Gotta run.

Dear Luke,

It is the day before my brothers birthday, and since yesterday I have been preparing for it. See my theory is if that I do something good for him he will reciprocate on my birthday. I bought him a Michael Jackson CD and I got him a new book. I cleaned the table and swept the floors and even had his birthday dinner planned out. Then he says he wants to go to an amusement park for his birthday. I told him about all the work and money I put in this, but apparently partying at home with the family isn’t cool. It was not even a party. We are not allowed to have parties anymore. None of of his friends were invited. My mom asked me why I care so much, and I told her. She blew up and accused me of being a mean sister. I asked her why she conveniently never sees the bad stuff my brother does to me. Why does she always see me and not him? Later on I realized that despite how much I despise my brother I really wanted him to have the awesome 14th birthday party I never had. I didn’t even get presents. Oh well.

Dear Luke,

There are so many things going on this week. First, school is starting tomorrow. I am getting my front tooth pulled this Friday because the gum is eating the tooth. I had an accident when I was eight. I fractured my mandible. Maybe I’ll be able to bite again after I get the implant. I made the tennis team again. Our coach this year is even worse than our coach from last year. I mean I still enjoy being part of the team, but we really need better coaches. My brother is going to be a freshman this year. I really hope he doesn’t do anyhting stupid. I am taking Algebra, Spanish Marine Bio and Drama. My Dad wants me to drop Spanish.

Raine
