TW: angst, death

I held Ash in my arms as the tears started rolling down my face. I couldn’t stop them from falling and I started sobbing. β€œI’m sorry Ash. Please don’t leave me. Don’t go.” I sobbed. β€œIt’s okay. Just don’t forget me” Ash said. That made me cry harder as the tears fell down on Ash’s face.” Ash please you’re gonna be fine, you’ll be fine, don’t go” I said as I covered the wound with my shirt to try and stop the bleeding. β€œDon’t forget me,” Ash said then closed their eyes. β€œAsh no. Please. Don’t go.” I whispered as I cupped their face in my hands. Then I felt myself slip away.

β€œMonique. Monique wake up.” Ash shook me. I sat up quickly as I started gasping for air. β€œIT’S OKAY IT’S OKAY WE’RE HERE” Ash yelped. β€œWhy are you crying?” Indigo said. I sat there in confusion for a few seconds then it hit me. Tears started to stream down my face and I started sobbing uncontrollably. β€œHey, hey” Ash rubbed my back as they held me. I started crying into their shoulder. β€œYou don’t have to tell us what happened,” Indigo said. β€œI don’t really wanna talk about it right now, or else I’ll start crying even harder” I sniffled.

β€œThat’s okay,” Ash said. β€œYou can tell us whenever you’re ready,” Indigo said. I yawned as I felt my eyelids get heavy. I then put my head back on the pillow and I slowly drifted back to sleep as Ash pulled my braids out of my face. I fell asleep to the faint scent of raspberries.

I fluttered my eyelashes as I squinted my eyes open due to the light coming from outside. I lifted my upper body to see Indigo and Ash still asleep. I reached over to the nightstand and grabbed my phone. I opened tiktok and started scrolling through my page. I was on there for a few more minutes until I felt someone shifting next to me. I looked over to see Ash opening their eyes.

β€œHey good morning” they said to me in a raspy voice. Damn...Wait what. I pushed the thought away and I put my phone down. β€œGood morning” I replied. β€œYou wanna wake them? I did it last time” Ash said. β€œHell nah. They yelled at me the last time I woke them up so I refuse” I said. β€œWell it’s your turn” they argued. β€œDammit fine” I gave up because I wasn’t fully awake yet. β€œIndigo. Indigo” I shook them not too hard, but enough to wake them up. β€œWhat the fuck do you fucking want” they growled. β€œWake up,” I said gently. β€œGet the hell out of my face,” they said.

β€œI’ll buy you food sometime,” I smirked. β€œAnd candy?,” they said. β€œFine,” I said as I rolled my eyes. Indigo slowly lifted their upper body and rubbed their eyes. I took my toothbrush and my toothpaste out of my bag and I went to the bathroom to brush my teeth. I’ll just take a shower when I get home. I brushed my teeth then I walked back to Ash’s room. I was scrolling through TikTok again while they both took turns brushing their teeth. When they both finished we walked to the kitchen and made and ate breakfast.

It was mid-afternoon when we were all relaxing in Ash’s room when I got a message from my mom telling me to come home. β€œWell I gotta go guys,” I said sadly. I didn’t have anything to do for the rest of the day but I’ll figure something out. β€œAww okay,” Ash said. β€œI can come back tomorrow if you want,” I smirked.

β€œYes,” they replied. β€œYou’ll be with Aran tomorrow right?” I asked Indigo. β€œI’m assuming so but he still didn’t tell me what we’re gonna be doing,” Indigo said. β€œYou better tell us all the details on Monday,” Ash said. β€œOr else” I glared at them. β€œChill I will” they put their hands up and gestured them in a β€˜calm down’ motion.

I picked up my bag and made sure I had all my stuff. Even though I knew when I got home, I would remember something that I left. I said β€˜bye’ to Ash and Indigo and I walked out of the room. β€œBye!” I said to Ash’s mom. β€œBye honey” she replied. I smiled then I walked out.
