Hanukkah, 2021
The festival came early this year
The candles lit with family dear
And although the prayers were said
Alone with Zoom and Face Time
Kisses pressed to monitor screens
Chocolate Gelt in bubble wrap
Latke delivered
Door dash driver harried
Postal service losing gifts
Amazon overloaded
The dreidel sits abandoned
My single soul sits silent
Pondering G-d’s purpose
I ask the question and then
I know. I am my own miracle
Loneliness draws the Torah home
