Working Frontline
The Tea Giver Project was created after rough days to provide a bit of healing. In 2019, The Tea Giver Project became a mission to change the world through gifts of tea. When I was going through rough days, tea was always the answer. Tea will always be the answer, not just for me, but for people all across the universe.
In 2020, we got hit with COVID, and working all throughout the pandemic really shocked my world. I didn’t expect to go from healing in 2019 to the 2020 experiences that changed the world. Working on the frontline has been no easy feat, especially with all of the shortages worldwide. I’d do everything I could to stay healthy for the people in my life and the people I’d see at work on a daily basis.
These past few years have been rough on all of us. Most people have been working from home and not going out much. My days consisted of work and always trying to squeeze in a bit of tea time. Long shifts on the frontline are essential for others so that they can have the essential items needed on a daily basis. I’ve been ever so grateful to have the health to continue working for those who need the essentials.
Many people found time to pursue new interests or watch more television. The people I’ve been lucky enough to work with and the support throughout communities worldwide continue to inspire me to push my goals even further.
While working on the frontline, I continued to squeeze in any moment I possibly could to work on The Tea Giver Project. That would be my breaks at work and any time outside of work. I wanted to continue giving back through tea, and that was a constant reminder that all of us will get through this. Together, we will continue to get through this through tea.
I’d have to say my favorite part of working on the frontline is being able to talk with others. During the pandemic, people getting the essential items turned out to be the main socialization activity. I knew I needed to continue working so that I could provide support and continue lending an ear to others. As in being someone that they could talk with. It’s crazy to think that the only time people really saw each other was to get the essential items.
Each work day would be long hours of wearing a mask and a photo so that people could see my smile. It’s been cool to share previous memories from my life with others and share stories. People would be glad to have someone to talk to, even if it was just for getting essential items.
The people I got to bond with from working throughout this pandemic will always have a special place in my heart. The Tea Giver Project continues to be my stress relief, especially in times like these. The people that I give tea to are my reason to keep on pushing further. I’m eternally grateful to be on the frontline. Never forget that what you go through has the power to change the world.
