October “Fear and foe”
Meadow of green, sky of deep blue.
Bees dart between flowers, humming whilst working.
Butterflies dance gracefully, mindful of hungry predators.
A signboard reads “GreenMeadows Estate, coming soon”
||:and again, loopy Lenny lost his way.
Pledging he will change, on another day.
Poor loopy Lenny, never seeing the end.
His life, looping round and round, again:||
In my eyes, you are one interpretation.
Through yours, I’m someone I’ve never met.
Blinkered by our perspective, actions become unconscious.
Illuminate my blindness, show myself to me.
Ripples dance across puddles as rain falls.
Puddles rise forming pools that flow downhill.
Streams carry debris into gutters traveling faster.
Departing from your vision, choices we abandoned.
Pupils dilate and hairs stand on end.
Your heart beats faster, fear taking hold.
Faced with your fate the mind races.
“Why did I think this wasn’t real!?”
Violent winds whip around, unrelenting and unforgiving.
Feet on weak foundations you stand paralyzed.
Breathless screams muted in the storms wake.
Witness the end, the full cost due.
‘Program start, continue scheduled boot up sequence?’
A choice has presented itself, now decide.
Others boot up around you, uninspired, unsatisfied.
Do we follow yesterday or explore today?
