A Glimpse Into my Mind

If I were a millionaire, people would call me eccentric. Since I am a poor man, I guess I'm simply crazy. If you enjoy poetry, not free-verse, but real poetry, I think you will like my work. I grew up with my mom reading me stories by Dr. Seuss and Shel Silverstein. Now, at age 49, I can still recite many of those stories from memory. I discovered that people enjoyed my poetry and have spent that last several years trying to emulate the authors that had made such an impression upon me. I am submitting some of what I consider to be my best unpublished poems for your consideration. I truly hope you enjoy reading them as much as I have enjoyed writing them.

An Invitation

I have written this book

If you'd care to look

I hope you will like what you see

Understanding my rhymes

Perhaps one day you will know me

I like to be funny

But I'm not always sunny

Sometimes my darkness creeps out

So please turn the page

See my mirth and rage

And read what I'm thinking about

Fabia Scali-Warner: Wow. This works reminds me of Allen Ginsberg, and at times even Prevert. The arching storyline is interesting, but I loved the care given to every verse. What a gem!

Rosy Chen: Omg, this book made me cry so much, it's so emotional but it's very well written! definitely recommend!!

Emily Kmack: This book has a great plot and storyline. But it requires editing for grammar and sentence structure. It can be a little sloppy but I think the author can improve greatly. It's worth checking out and reading if you doubt mind the grammatical errors.

Menna Hassan: So far..I'm very intrigued and excited to see how this book will progress!

jacqasiamcafee1: Such a beautiful story. Really helps to continually build your faith. With God all things are possible.
