Chapter 41: That Girl

Her hair was blonde with eyes of blue,

she stole my heart that much I knew.
Her past was filled with sorrow and
strife, a lost soul searching for a better
life.

She was quiet and shy the day that
met but I felt there was so much more,
they say she was crazy but I never
would have guessed, as she walked
in through my door.

She would talk to her friends that lived
with her, the ones that lived inside,
they helped her get through life this
far, to make choices and decide.

Chorus

She was beautiful and funny and a smile
for everyone she met, a heart a gold
and always kind words, and that’s all
you ever got.

Our paths had come together that day,
either out of luck or maybe fate, but when
I looked up into her eyes, I knew she was
no mistake.

It started out slowly with a just simile,
then a wink and a little flirt, then one night
we found ourselves alone, wearing nothing
but her shirt.

Soon after that our lives would change,
as we lost my little son, then we lost all our
friends and our home, and nothing could
be done.

Chorus

She was beautiful and funny and a smile
for everyone she met, a heart a gold
and always kind words, and that’s all
you ever got

She felt the loss down deep inside as my
soul begin to cry, gone was everything
that we knew, now alone, just her and I.
Those months we had together were the best
ones in my life, I fell in love with that girl
and wanted to make her my wife.

Chorus

She was beautiful and funny and a smile
for everyone she met, a heart a gold
and always kind words, and that’s all
you ever got

She was in love, but not with me, her heart
was with another, she tried to tell me but
I didn’t listen, I thought we would always
be together.

Chorus

She was beautiful and funny and a smile
for everyone she met, a heart a gold
and always kind words, and that’s all
you ever got

As time went on my love would grow, but
hers begin to fade, then one day she
was gone I never was the same.

I never will forget that girl, she will always
be part of me, I will always wonder if I
crossed her mind, the day they buried me.

Chorus

She was beautiful and funny and a smile
for everyone she met, a heart a gold
and always kind words, and that’s all
you ever got.

When souls begin to dance, hearts start to pound, eyes will look deeply into each other’s, love has cast its spell without making any sound.
