A "Found Poem"

Why bake?

Get your hands dirty

Enjoy the end result

I believe in sifting

A large balloon whisk is a staple

It’s a good idea to get to know your oven

Make sure to use the freshest butter possible

The best eggs, of course, would be from your own chicken

Start with the good stuff

Someone brought a cake very similar to this to my birthday party

When life gives you a bounty of juicy summer fruit

I love the drama of an upside-down cake

Make a double batch of toffee sauce

So far, I’ve licked two bowls today

Impress your guests

In a large bowl, toss the apricots with sugar

Pass me another slice, please!

Position a rack in the middle of the oven

I’d be personally devastated without chocolate

Bake the crust until lightly golden brown

Garnish with chocolate shavings, if you like.

Then bake as directed.

Let cool.

For the caramelized blood oranges

Serve with dollops of whipped cream

You can’t rush yeasted dough or toddlers.

Remove the vanilla pod.

Bake the pudding for 30 minutes.

The mixture will still be a little soupy

Jaslyn: I loved reading this so much!! The transformation of Nina's self-esteem was incredible to read, and while I was rooting for Parker halfway through, I was very satisfied when Harrison and Nina finally got everything straight. The side characters were adorable - I especially loved Anna, Richel, Mic...

Ruby0h: Overall I thought your story was really good! It drew me in right away and kept me interested as the story progressed. I loved the character of Kayla being inserted into this story, and the way she affected and shaped the life of the original story into something totally new and interesting. I lo...

latashashetters: I absolutely love this. Really page turner! But it definitely needs work, there's a lot of misspelled words and along with name mix ups when 2 people are conversing in the story. Other then that I love it and wish it was longer!

Alex Rushmer: I just want to say that the writing in this is amazing! I read the first couple chapters and was absolutely drawn in by it, The way you use first person in this story is extremely engaging and does wonders with your character development. I immediately had a picture of the characters and plotline...

Rebeccaseal: This was an almost perfect story that I would recommend to anyone. The only thing I would work on is painting a more realistic picture of Haiathiel. Somehow the environment seemed limited, and the land itself a bit unfinished. This can be solved simply by added descriptions to people and places. ...

Jasmine Chow: As I read this story, I was reminded some what of Terry Pratchett, especially some descriptions of politics and economics. The sci-fic setting is quite intriguing. Writing style is quite lovely and grew on me slowly. I was also slightly reminded of Mark Twain, especially his book A Connecticut Ya...

Juanita Dunn Houston: I really liked the story. It made me laugh out and at times made me angry at Paul, the ex and the attorney as it was supposed to do. The Irish words confused me a little and I had to look up how to pronounce the main characters name but other than that, it was a good story. I hope there will be a...

Mona Matthews: I went to high school a while back and was able to revisit it in this book. The emotions, conflicts, and triumphs kept me turning the pages. Who is cool in high school? And what makes them cool? Why do we care? This book blends the turmoils of high school and the turmoils of life with perfect bal...

Ben Gauger: Kudos to Dhira Vidhea, author of Boy Who Broke In My Window, an otherwise engaging tale of love and acceptance of the quirkiest of individuals, whose overall conception of the plot is spot-on and whose writing style is impeccable and as for her writing skills they are the best I've ever seen, tho...

Karl12: This story is written in a fun, amusing way, which caught my attention from the very beginning. This, so to speak, “free” style of writing is something I really enjoyed.
