Chapter 1

What would you see
If you were a tree
5000 years old
And so much left untold

Stories of countless empires rising
And falling
Of the sound of the earth
Breathing and changing as
If it were a living organism
Of the difference between 4840 years
And the last one hundred sixty
And the evolution of the human race
As a whole

If you were to ask me what
I have seen in the last 5000 years
I would tell you this and more
Much more

If you were a tree
Would you give your
Answers in the breeze?
Or would you politely tell them
To fuck off?

Rebeccaseal: This was an almost perfect story that I would recommend to anyone. The only thing I would work on is painting a more realistic picture of Haiathiel. Somehow the environment seemed limited, and the land itself a bit unfinished. This can be solved simply by added descriptions to people and places. ...

ianwatson: The comedy is original and genuinely funny, I have laughed out loud many times reading this book. But the story and the plot are also really engaging. Alex Wardle: THE ART OF STAYING UP THEREThis is a great read with colourful characters, a quietly thrilling plot filled with romance in all its forms, which is ultimately satisfying yet leaves the reader wanting to stay in the company of these people for longer. Martin Alcock's flowing prose demonstrates trem...

JulieJeanette: I'm only on chapter nine, but so far I am loving this story!. I am on pins and needles hoping that they find good men in their lives by the end. I am American and so the British tone and lingo ('knickers,' 'sod it' ) of the book is very appealing. I had to find out how much '12 stone' was by goog...
