Chapter 1

The aimless meanderings of a wandering man
Who woke to the sun and the desert
With robes dragging behind, never taking a misstep
The light and the sweat on his brow will never blind him

He knew of a city beyond the horizon
A sense of place
A sense of belonging
Drawn to a place that he'd never seen
A single-mindedness overtaking

Short of breath
A transparent red
Flowed from his hand as he drank from a cactus

Ran as fast he could
When the wretch appeared behind him
Stumbling, panicking, fearing and falling
A taunting image of the city reaching beyond his grasp

Hurting to breathe
Calmly carrying the unconscious body away

Locked inside a room
At the top of a tower
Table, chair, bed and the rest
To live quite comfortably here

The moon rose and the night had fallen
'Twas still daytime 'round this pillar

Where am I? he questioned
Home, she replied in a rather deep voice
On the other side of the wall
Amidst the bubbling of boiling water

Now I'll be another minute
Before I will come in

It opened revealing her nude appearance of ugly
Was strongly attractive
She began an act that would last for the rest of the night

And the tingling between his thighs
But the city beckoned him once more

Many days and nights passed
Before she left the door open
By mistake
He took this chance to escape
Avoiding all of her traps beforehand

Free from his prison
He took a breather at the foot of the tower
Before crossing the barrier
Where the magic wore off

Compass, bow and arrow
Belt, helmet and shield
There will be no tomorrow
As they fly over the sandy field

Now she must create another
To satisfy her sexual needs
He finally reached the city
But as objects levitating indeed.Start writing here ...

Drew C. Elyon: I've only read one chapter so far, but from what I've seen, this is steampunk at its best. The narrative flows so beautifully I could envision every scene in an almost cinematic fashion. I believe in the complexity of simplicity, and this story has that in its descriptions.

Laraine Smith: My only suggestion on the grammar is to use I have it bookmarked on Google Chrome. I see myself in the determination in this beautiful story! I have Cerebral Palsy, and I have dreams that I have been working hard for, too! The humor made me laugh!

Robert D. Stanley: I really liked this story. The main character was very well fleshed out (so much so that I sometimes felt sorry for her friends with how little trust she had in them) and your descriptive writing was very good. There are, however a few points I'd like to critique.1. The dual PoVs were interesting...

Dr.Strangelove: not the ending I expected.

Aditya Harikrish: It had me on tenterhooks since the very first page. Excllently developed plot and characters. You've done an amazing job of building a fantasy world from scratch. Hats off to you!A sequel is a must.
