Chapter 1

The thousand who
Died in the
Line of fire
Rise
The soldiers rise once more

Unseen
They put on a show
Nevertheless

The pockmarked bodies
Rise, levitate
Slow motion ballet
In midair

Apathetic of the war
Around
Their faces
Show shades of sadness

They move elegantly
Pirouetting up
Once more

Solemnly watching
They mourn
For those who shall be
Like them

The danse macabre
They shall mourn
By moving

A rose in each pocket
Of the uniform
For the incense event

Forever they shall carry on
To grow in number
For each is the victim of war

William Elliott Kern: Andrew, I felt the terror of the hospital fire, the loss of lives, the hospital closed for some 30 plus years, and now, a girl is seen in the upper floors, which opens the religious aspect to your story, faith in what? overall i enjoyed the story, the progression and character development and th...

Kayresia A. Bass: Loved it. Author did some insane research to bring this story to life. A little short for my taste, but an awesome story nonetheless. A few missing periods, and a few missing ending quotation marks, but not enough to take away from the story.Keep going. Add more detail to your future stories and ...

Laraine Smith: My only suggestion on the grammar is to use www.grammarcheck.net. I have it bookmarked on Google Chrome. I see myself in the determination in this beautiful story! I have Cerebral Palsy, and I have dreams that I have been working hard for, too! The humor made me laugh!

William Elliott Kern: cthanold123 congrats on your submission to Inkitt.com..............your story and plot are weaved perfectly..........fine imagination, excellent writing. Wish it was a longer Story, but it does suffice to fill my plate for your works............The punctuation and Grammar were okay, but your sto...

Lacey Eder: The stories remind me of the chilling 2 sentence stories on Reddit. Creepy, but not too scary and short. There were a couple of spelling errors throughout, which probably should've been taken care of beforehand. But, if this were available on Kindle Unlimited for $1-5, I'd consider buying it then.

Juzme34: Once I started reading I didn't want to stop. A few minor grammatical errors caught my attention, but a quick edit can fix those. I found the main character's view interesting, and her thinking process a bit odd. Yet it was easy to follow her train of thought. The story ends with the reader wanti...

danijelstoilkovic: I really like this story. The characters, the mysteries, that bonding in the end, but I would really like to see what happened next. Is there a second part? And this would really be one cool horror movie and if I was the director, I wouldn't change a thing. It's awesome!

C.K. Bachman: Just read the first chapter. Love how the main character thinks and is conflicted over his wife and the trickery he uses on her.

Patrick Zac: The story, pacing, characters, and style was good. However the punctuation mistakes really threw me off. Other than that though the actual story is solid.

Shelley Miller: The ideas and the set up and this are amazing! The feel of the story goes from science fiction to horror to suspense all in a big, thrilling ball. I really like your character so far and her powers and the idea of the ark being a person. The world is intense and gritty and clever as well. While a...
