Cold Sweet Arms
she falls to her knees as the darkness befalls the abandoned room
the sun has set hours ago but the light didn't leave till now
her knees touch her face as she wraps her arms around her legs
the tears she was holding back till now finally slide down her cheek to the cold damp cement floor
without care a strand of hair leaves the comfort of her ear
she pulls her legs closer to her chest while burrowing further into her knees
she cling to her old tattered jeans a if clinging to life itself
a shake rattles her body as a whimper envelopes the room
without notice sweet cold arms wrap around from behind
without knowledge lips press against her head
she tilts her head as cold sweet lips whisper a few words
to someone else the words may seem small and worthless, but to her the words felt like she had lost her
soul and it came back cured of all the loneliness and despair
to the girl 'I'm sorry' was the sweetest thing ever uttered by human lips
the man moved a hand to her cheek and wiped the tears away
then he moved that hand to the stray strand of hair and tucked it thoughtlessly behind her ear
she didn't get why he returned to her and didn't understand why the tears continued to fall
she just knew, she didn't know how, but she knew that he would always be their to wipe the tears away
and she smiled, small but still their, and laid her head into his chest, breathing in the scent that is uniquely him
