Dreams in the Garden

For a soliloquy of sights unseen,

When two shall share a moon.

An obelisk of wonted dreams,

Awoken by a fire.

By this fire we danced,

And danced.

While the forests were but new and old,

Paths and streams took place of roads,

And the drum beat hard,

Our hearts in glacial gardens.

Fresh flowers lay there,

Fresh to Earth.

When we had asked to be with me,

So found and lost,

One dream of life in poetry.

A tryst of touch,

Till wilted flowers lie as such.

Where we are old,

Except for our eyes,

Still helpless for each other.

They are always now,

So helpless for each other.
