The sky has grown darker, as has my heart
Did you think it would never heal again?
Never Love, and been all alone
You turned your back on me, left me
Maybe I deserved your treatment, all those
Empty words
You won my heart with flowers and laughter
And love.
You departed leaving me to feel the shame
To you this was all but a game
Like an actor on stage you took your curtsy
Having played your part, you then stole my heart
With words of Love and gain.
But now I’m changed and playing my part
Life’s curtain changes, the scenes anew
New actors can appear, my hearts healing
Playing its harp to others in the crowd
I’ve learnt my lines, the script been rewritten
But this time its without you.
I’ll take my bow, I’ve learned my part
Like an actor, I’ll win new hearts
No more tears, no more pain, just laughing
And fun
I’ll take my bow, life’s curtain is closing
My life is beginning, this time without you.
Your words were so fancy, winning my heart
You acted Oh so well, the blood-stained sheets
Are your only prize.
My heart will never be yours, my love will
Be for another
You taught me so well, a tutor a master
I learned my part, now the curtain is closing.
I’ll take my bow, I’ve learned my part
Like an actor, I’ll win new hearts
No more tears, no more pain, just laughing
And fun
I’ll take my bow, life’s curtain is closing
My life is beginning, this time without you.
This time without you.
