The blood which covers her long, shaking fingers

Is thick, red and warm

And the pungent iron smell, it lingers

As the deep red poison flows down the skin of her arm

They say you wear your heart on your sleeve

But she, she wore hers in her chest

Away from those who threatened to eat

The soft and tender heart only she “knew best”

But she hid it from the wrong people

For her enemy was never outside

And not all she knew was in fact evil

Instead she placed her heart in someone she thought she could confide…


Now as she stares at the mirror

Her heart still beating in her hands

There was monstrous look in her eyes like the hell’s fire

As her heart began to disintegrate like grains of sand….
