Sonnet 1
Displaying, with a humble
kiss, my love
On skin so white as
summer’s clouds up high
Or feathers fallen off of startled
doves
Perhaps I should not
even want to try
Soon shorter days will
want to replace these
So feel for me and if you can’t,
just cheat
Use all you have inside
to do this, please
Shall I say more or force your heart
to beat?
And then, as minutes passed,
autumn bloomed
Now it begins, a game we cannot
win
Not seeing you in that
grey clinic’s room
And freer than this, you have
never been
Dare not to speak,
hush now and look at that.
Our world fell apart
when that line went flat
