Chapter 1

Everyone makes wishes,

Hoping they'll come true;

But doesn't that make us selfish,

When no one wishes for you?

When you cry,

People turn the other way;

If you'll die,

It'll be like nothing had ever changed.

If we're all equal as human beings,

Then why do many still suffer?

We're told to cooperate, yet we still disagree,

What's the point in working together?

I want to be a child again,

When my innocence made the world seem like a better place;

It's not fair to have to bear the burden,

To live in a world that is ongoing a drastic change.

If I close my eyes,

Will I be able to dream?

Horrendous views have filled my sight,

Is life really the way it seems?

Are we meant to be slaves?

Of the ones who are privileged;

Do they really expect us to simply behave?

While they push our sanity to the edge.

It's not fair!

We don't deserve this;

Yet no one cares,

It's simply the way life is.

Maybe one day,

Several generations from now;

There will be a change,

Where human sufferance will not be allowed.

So pray with me,

To set our spirits free;

To liberate them from all the pain and suffering,

So that they can receive the ultimate offering.

Peace…

littlebite22: This made me think. About the world around me, about what I think of others. We rarely get to see or hear what others think, and this is such a great example of not judging a book by its cover. Also very well written.

dd1226: I love reading about other countries and I think this story about Cambodia after Polpot creates awareness of the tragedy that happened there and the actions of the U.N. to hold elections. The heroine of the story is easy to relate to, a modern, middleaged woman looking for an adventure, wanting t...

Animeviewer: It is one of the best stories I've ever read. This story will have you riding a roller coaster of emotions and nearly dying to know what happens next.You will get very attached to the characters and in my case I relate well with some of their very traumatic or emotional experiences, Just Juliet f...

AnnaLucia: This fanfiction has an amazing plot. It's very different from the books, yet the author still managed to keep the personalities the characters had in the books. Your Alec and Magnus still are themselves, even though you created a different plot where Bane had to seduce Lightwood to get informati...

Patrick Johns: The Prince was an exciting read. I enjoyed the spoiled bratty protagonist and his drastic change through out the story. The world building was well though out and clear. The author did a great job painting a picture for the reader without having a map. I liked the connection to real life leaders....

mrh: This interesting take on the Harry Potter series fascinated me from line one on. I am in love with this tale and its characters and cannot wait to read the next chapter. I look forward to more soon.When can I expect the next chapter? I am so excited to read it!

Their relationship was rlly nicely fleshed out and so good :) The way that you handled the magic reveal was super enjoyable. I rlly liked the switching POVs. Good!Mordred was cute and I'm rl...

Bella_Lee_Taylor: the plot of the story is good and I can't wait to read the second book, but you need to check your grammar because as I was reading there were were important parts of the story some of the spelling and grammar were out of place and the way you you worded things can be better but I can see that th...

dapharoah69: I gotta hand it to you. This was a great read from start to finish. I am a big fan of witches, thanks to Anne Rice. The characters really reeled me in from the very first few chapters. You make reading fun.

Lydia Sherrer: I first read The Speaker almost a decade ago when I first discovered author Sandra Leigh. I loved it then, and I still love it now. It is a simple, easy read, yet deep in meaning and rich in storyline. I do not know what kind of research or prior knowledge Leigh has of First Nation tribes, but sh...

RedX9: I would love it if you would show how she is the bottom of the class. A paragraph alone isn't enough to show this.If she was such a screw up, how did she pass and graduate from the class.
