1. Apart, away

I feel it falling apart, shattering
The plans that I made, certainty, surety

I still choose them – my dreams – but

Down a path far less trodden

To the land of a future I thought was closer

I embraced change in a controlled environment

Experiments I could handle

Against life’s nuances and currents, I was protected

The train approaches

And childhood flees at the sight.
