Chapter 1

I've had enough! I can't do this anymore.

Stop acting like that; you've been through all this before.

It's not the same; everything just keeps getting worse.

Don't be like that. Think of it as your life getting more diverse.

There is no joy in life; it's been sucked dry from mine.

Relax, alright? Everything will be just fine.

The world is like a ferocious jungle; I've got so much fear!

It's okay to be afraid; I will always be here.

There's no way I can survive; I feel nothing inside!

Stop! Don't think like that. This is your life.

But I feel so lost; it's like nothing matters.

Take control sweetheart; you are your own master.

Nobody likes me; they say that I'm too needy.

Hey! Don't listen to them. You're pretty damn likable to me.

I've had enough! The only phrase that seems to work for me is "I cannot."

We're opposites; deal with it. Quite frankly, I'm the only friend you've got!

Jessica McAlpine: I fell in love easily with this story. In the beginning it reminded me of Studio Ghibli films where fantasy is mixed with some science, almost like steampunk but not.I continued to enjoy the world culture of The Shattered Girl. I especially love the idea of dwarves being seafaring folk instead of...

Deidre L. Swain: I understood where the story was going but the writing skills were lacking a lot. There are some places that had no flow. The plot was good which is what kept me reading the whole story. I think the author shows promise. They just need to tighten up on their skills to really get it going

Lydia Sherrer: I first read The Speaker almost a decade ago when I first discovered author Sandra Leigh. I loved it then, and I still love it now. It is a simple, easy read, yet deep in meaning and rich in storyline. I do not know what kind of research or prior knowledge Leigh has of First Nation tribes, but sh...
