A poem of hope
Did you look up at the moon tonight
Adrift among the clouds?
Did she cast upon you golden light
To pierce the velvet shrouds?
Did you hear her whisper soft your name
Upon the gentle breeze
As distant thoughts unto you came,
Rustling through the trees?
Tho I can’t stand beside you, dear
Nor offer you my hand
To hold onto in times of fear,
And lead you through the sand,
To a far-off distant sunny clime,
And give you shelter there.
My heart is yours throughout all time,
To nurture and to care.
