Poems One

He held my hand and stared off into space before we took the plunge off the cliff to the dark expense of the unknown below...

*****

Going Home to live in the sea

A ship sinks into the sea

My heart sinks as I watch you

Drown

The tides rush over our

feet as our children play in the sand

I catch a glimpse at a pod of dolphins

Frolicking off in the distance

But close enough that I imagine

Riding one of their tails

Off into the horizon

*****

Fleeting Moments

There he stands again

And here I am

Just passing time

A grey cloud comes over heard

Full of dread as the droplets fall

Upon my head

He comes to my aide

Umbrella in hand

Now holding it over our heads

All I can do is just stand,

Heart in hand wanting

So much to speak to make

A new friend

But nothing comes out

Not a hello

Not a thank you

Nothing not even a spark

Of recognition

He doesn’t remember me

He doesn’t seem to recall

The night we shared

The evening we existed within

A fleeting moment of joy

But then I blink my eye

You stand again, across

From me

And here I am

Just passing time.

Crazy Dreams

The crazy dreams I had felt so real

They had no end

No beginning for that matter, either.

I was someone else and you were

Faithful

I could trust you

I could tell when you were lying

The Dream carried me away

To my safe place

Far off the ground

Over y’all buildings in a single

Bound

I didn’t want to come down

It felt so real. I was someone else

And you were faithful.

******

We fall

He takes my hand, laces my fingers within his own as he leads my to the door

Through the rabbit hole

We fall

We fall

We fall

He doesn’t deserve to see all

The worlds beauty

That time has so mercilessly

Lent to us temporarily

I cross my arms around myself

In serious contemplation

Whether or not I’ll fight him back

Or accept my limitations

Through the looking glass I see

That I am trapped

Forever captive

Ted Yellow: A beautiful collection of poems that come with random messages about life. The use of metaphor is amazing and adds to the overall beauty of the poems. A little more attention to the use of punctuation can make it even better!

heironymousridiculous: Do I love you more because one of your parents was a narcissist? Or was it always that crumpled, refracted, white trash inheritance besieging my negative attachments until I’d eaten up all my carefully rationed self-esteem? Of course I was insane with hunger. Of course you never meant to hurt me ...
