(Inspired by Summer Soft, Eivets Rednow)
In the meantime, it’s not enough
To mean well, late spring early
Summer meant hell.
Although I have the summer’s heat
To keep from losing my mind, I lost weight
Then along the way embraced the loss of freight.
Not mine anymore to carry on my not-so-broad shoulders.
With loneliness afoot, I skipped right over autumn, bracing myself for a winter most certainly colder.
I guess fall has a way of bringing the change we all need.
Today I celebrate the harvest season. As in the fresh oranges, berries, and kiwi I feed.
The change in colors of the leaves
As the more distance I place between me and she.
