Broken Promises (Poem)

So as I have said before that I have never been in a relationship, but I have witnessed enough to be able to hopefully convey the feelings one might feel after a breakup. These are a series of haikus that I wrote myself. In case you don’t know, haikus have three lines (5, 7, 5 syllable count). If you’re like me, you can count the syllables if you’d like. Pretty satisfying, to be honest. So I hope you like it, and you can tell me what you think:

I gave you my heart
I trusted you with my life
I thought you loved me

All that I wanted
Was eternal happiness
For us forever

You were my missing piece
I was complete then

Broken promises
You lifted me to new heights
Now I crash back down

You tore me apart
Although I had nothing left
I’m worth nothing now

I will still exist
With no purpose left in life
Here without a soul
