Luna's Child

The moon is out again; my emotions are shifting once more,

The unique transformation rocks me to my very core.

Many are confused by this, but that is why I’m unique,

With my luscious brown hair that is descendent from the Greeks.

And my almond shaped eyes that shimmer chocolate brown,

Not to mention the golden streaks in them that envelop my pupils like a crown.

My emotions fluctuate; there goes the tidal wave again,

One minute I’m energetic and happy; the next I’ll be planning your end.

I cause a mixture of opinions of those around me,

I could care less though; I always do what pleases me.

My dream is to be a writer; I can only hope that my future is full of success.

I’ve started by publishing my work on websites such as Fictionpress.

People don’t understand me; they say that I’m strange,

Their ignorant reactions confuse me; I’ve had enough of this exchange.

They always ask me: “Are you even human? You seem too wild,”

I merely smile at them: “Well, people call me Luna’s Child.”

Jasmine Chow: As I read this story, I was reminded some what of Terry Pratchett, especially some descriptions of politics and economics. The sci-fic setting is quite intriguing. Writing style is quite lovely and grew on me slowly. I was also slightly reminded of Mark Twain, especially his book A Connecticut Ya...

Cristi C: Love the idea behind the story. I had a lot of fun reading it. Quite a bit of editing needed but overall it was a good short read. I believe the author could expand certain areas to make it mesh better. I will say Bobbie is the best character and in a way the parents too.

Allyssa: Omg, please give us more! Pretty sure I've seen this particular book on Inkitt Exclusive Reads, so congratulations on being published. Ben Gauger: Kudos to Dhira Vidhea, author of Boy Who Broke In My Window, an otherwise engaging tale of love and acceptance of the quirkiest of individuals, whose overall conception of the plot is spot-on and whose writing style is impeccable and as for her writing skills they are the best I've ever seen, tho...
