Stand for a Being

“Stand for a Being”

Written by: Janel Spiegel @butterflyjms

I look past all those words.

I see through the rugged clothing.

I would have marched alongside Dr. King.

Fought some battles and hoped to win.

Sat on a bus with Ms. Parks.

Looked at those left for dead.

The Holocaust, how can you say it did not exist?

Weary, weepy souls disagree.

You cannot have so much faith in me.

Lie, cheat, steal.

Hey, VOTE for me! I will make you a deal!

Sit at my table, drink my champagne.

Dom something, something, it is a fancy type name.

Don’t look at them.

They sit on the streets.

They panhandle, beg, cheat, lie and steal.

Hey wait a minute running mate that is you in that last debate.

Scandal, beg and mercy.

They do not unite.

A world divided is not one we need

A world united, yes please!

Fighting and riots till the clouds of smoke fade

Fighting so fast, hey Mr. Officer you seen my shades?

I am you, you are me.

Together we can certainly “Let it be.”

Belief in fight is not right.

Belief in truth that is what I told you!

Dr. King to the Dalai Lama

May peace prevail one day in this chaos called life?

May we learn love, existence and light.

May we shed the darkness, value life.

Knock over those barricades and hey let’s have a talk.

Peace to all.

Nikki Landis: This is the first book in a series. Seems a few people have missed that. :)The sequel Dark Vengeance is available online. If you love vampires, twists, love and soulmates, then this book is for you. Enjoy!!!

MissMadokaKaname: I was impressed and moved by this work. The characterization and dialog were strong, and really brought everyone in the story to life. Also, the setting was handled in a believable and compelling way. The story captured the complexities and pain of love, and also the harshness of living in such b...

Patrick Johns: The Prince was an exciting read. I enjoyed the spoiled bratty protagonist and his drastic change through out the story. The world building was well though out and clear. The author did a great job painting a picture for the reader without having a map. I liked the connection to real life leaders....

Jacklyn Reynolds: As a mother of an Autistic child, I know how hard it can be. I love how beautiful you made everything. That's all I can say. I need to grab a tissue.

Shubh Guru: when i'm reading this novel, I remember all my school days, all i feel like i m back to my old days, all the misery come to "bay" and how she come back like a shinning star are so good...this is my first book and i love this because it contains all the thing, love ,betrayl, losing some one who lo...

Michael Hogan: If anyone would advise Lindsey Martin-Bower not to mix religion and politics, she would probably tell them to take a hike. This rollicking novella does just that. It considers the case of Yung Sung Gonne and his Universality Church and two young women trying to bring it down. Frustrated by the ru...

dd1226: I love reading about other countries and I think this story about Cambodia after Polpot creates awareness of the tragedy that happened there and the actions of the U.N. to hold elections. The heroine of the story is easy to relate to, a modern, middleaged woman looking for an adventure, wanting t...

OpheliaJones: This story took a different kind of spin on the "normal girl lives with definitely not normal guy" plot. The plot points of Frey's father, Liam's family, and Frey's view of Liam's world were good to read. She did not fall in love with him in the first couple weeks. Their lives were not smooth in ...

AnnaLucia: This fanfiction has an amazing plot. It's very different from the books, yet the author still managed to keep the personalities the characters had in the books. Your Alec and Magnus still are themselves, even though you created a different plot where Bane had to seduce Lightwood to get informati...

sujitha nair: What's so distinct about this story was that it could easily be real. Praveena can be your classmate, neighbor or that girl you saw at the coffee shop today. The important decisions she makes and the dilemmas she faces, remind us of our own twisted lives.

Theresa Alley: There always needs to be a BEGINNING and this reads like it!! I can see SEQUELS, yes plural, after this one!! Angel can take this character a LONG WAY!! And there R a lot of places to take Her to!! Have fun!!

yogashri asyosa: i have to say, i thoroughly enjoyed the book. initially I thought ain't it too much drama.but as i continued i wanted to know the end. i really appreciate the author for the narrative. it was clear and crisp. i finished the book yesterday and i still am thinking how it ended and what it was btwn ...

ank1983: I really enjoyed this story and I read through it quickly. I found it very entertaining and some of your scenes were very well written and descriptive. Every time a chapter ended I couldn't wait to start the next chapter. What girl hasn't fantasized over a cute teacher at school?! The story did...
