Would Be Just Fine

The first time I saw him, he caught my eye
And thought he might’ve made many girls cry

He and I were talking about families
When I said, I wasn’t the golden child
His face lit up, nodded and smiled

Then my friends asked if he’s the one I liked
I didn’t think about him that way
So I just denied

When I thought of it, he was my type
When he asked though, what I did was lie

He’s enlightening
I can’t help falling in love

Meeting him, the only thing I could think was “Thank God”

Now I know how he felt
What he meant that night
I guess being his friend
Would be just fine
