Grapefruit

You would think that with such a sweet name you'd make that name ring true
You're nothing but a sour, lemon colored orange that left a bad taste in my mouth

I've always hated grapes, but always loved fruit
Somehow I mixed those up the day I found you so lonely on the grass

No one wanted you, but I gave you a chance
I should've thought twice as I peeled away your skin
I should've prepared myself as I grasped your fruity flesh and pulled you apart

But I only got the putrid taste of you on my tongue
I fucking hate grapefruit
