Summary

Already Almost Home is a full-length chapbook born out of three years of full-time travel, one journal, and many great conversations. Featuring pictures and some prose pieces, this chapbook gives an intimate glimpse into the life of nomadic poet and writer, Alexandria Maxwell.

The Tension of Already Almost

This explanation is before the rest of the book because I knew before traveling that we would be living in this tension, and that was the premise for writing these poems and prose pieces. By living in a camper, we are always home. Yet by not being location dependent, we are never fully home. This parallels the theological idea of already/not yet in terms of prophecy fulfillment or justified vs. sanctified. There are prophecies that have been fulfilled, but are still being fulfilled. We are justified, but we spend the rest of our lives being sanctified.
