How I see myself

When I look in a mirror
All I see is you
You rule my life
You take control
You break me down
You make me cruel

Why do you hurt me so much
Why do you make me so nasty

To defeat you feels nearly impossible
You run my life
My mind is a war ground

The days when I am free
It's like you never existed
The days when I am free
I can breathe again

I never know when I will fall for your games
I never know the day I'll crumble to your will
You make me weak
You make me feel insignificant

But I know one day.....

One day you will no longer rule me
One day you will only be a part of my past
One day I will be most grateful for my weakest moments
One day I will be able to love myself again.

I'll be working towards that day.

Mary Wilkins: This short story was wrapped up quickly, after the main characters got together. It was nice to see closure, for the family…including the paternal grand-relatives.
