Untitled chapter
One Day.
Before the fire that choked all the life out of the lungs and burned the spinal column into ruin:
The Crying came.
The Crying itself was the strength of a maelstrom and a tidal wave combined.
Violent and unpredictable, a warning could not have been cast to warn the citizens in time.
The Storm, itself, came thrashing in like an angry snake. Wrecking towns and smashing the wooden villages to smithereens. Then as quickly as the snake struck it left.
Mass destruction was left in the aftermath. Walls were dented, plates and many other valuables
were shattered or broken beyond repair.
The Crying came one day too early
to give warning.
