The Painful Days

My past still haunts me. I can’t help but still feel my hot tears roll down my face. I can still feel the puffiness in my eyes. I remember those sleepless nights. Having to wake up to see another painful day. I use to think that no one noticed because I “covered it up so well”, but in all reality I was showing all of the signs. The signs of a damaged child. You just never cared to look. These are the days that I don’t miss, but they’re always on a constant replay in my mind. Maybe I’m not over those painful days.
