Crying Skies

one, two, three

the sky is crying

tears of exuberant beating

from the heart screaming for meaning

the only solace on a teeth chattering winter’s eve

the shred in the cloth, the burning mark given from demons and monsters who live in the darkest depths

four, five, six

wails heavy with plunging regret

shouts with walls crumbling down

smoldering ash, destroying time built energies

splitting seams sewn with timeless memories

the sky is weeping

one, two, three

soundlessly

endlessly

haplessly

anchorlessly

but not ceaselessly

four, five, six

fight the dark

but the spark

is too dim

chances are slim

sky opens up

clouds light up

boom, and then-

sunlight

beaming

brightening

agonizing

questioning

asking

𝑤ℎ𝑦𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑟 𝑛𝑜𝑡?
