Poetry

To Cry

Tears just happen,

From time to time they fall,

It can be for a reason,

Or for nothing at all.

It comes from joy,

And from sorrow,

Nightmares born,

And trouble borrowed,

They are from shame,

Or pain relieved,

Out of control laughter,

Or gifts received,

A grandfather’s last hug,

Or a broken heart,

There is no knowing,

When they might start,

To try to control them,

Is unwise,

These bottled emotions,

That pour from your eyes,

So allow yourself to cling,

To their embrace,

For the trials of life,

They help you face.
