I agreed to hangout with Karina today, not because I was giving her another shot. But because I had no plans and didn’t want to stay at home bored. We’d planned to go to an aquarium that was 30 minutes away.
What did that mean? 30 minutes of Karina being annoying and loud and singing along to the songs on the radio.
Side To Side by Ariana Grande was playing as Karina started singing along.
“I’m comin’ at ya cause I know you got a bad reputation, doesn’t matter cause you give me temptation,” Karina sang along.
“Shut up, will ya?” I suggested.
“But if it’s quiet then it’s boring.” she replied.
“Good, let it be boring. Maybe this’ll give you a hint not to hangout with me again,” I replied.
The only person I’d be okay with being loud and annoying would be Maria, like the last time she rode with me.
30 minutes later, we made it to the aquarium.
“Wow! Look at all these beautiful fishes!” Karina said looking at the huge tank of fishes in front of us.
“Heh, yeah. I found Dory already,” I replied.
“Can you take a picture of me and all these fishes please?” she asked handing me her phone.
“Sure.” I replied taking it as she faced the huge tank of fishes and I snapped a picture. “Okay, I got it.” I said handing her phone back.
“Thank you!” she replied looking at the photo. “Do you want a picture too?” she asked.
“No, it’s—” she cut me off.
“Aw, come on! Memory,” she replied with a smile. “I’ll take it.” she added.
I sighed softly and faced the tank, my hands in my pockets as she took the picture. “Got it!” she said with a big smile. “I’ll send it to you later,” she added.
All we basically did was just walk around the aquarium looking at the many different colored and types of fishes. I felt like Maria would enjoy it here at the aquarium as well, looking at all these aquatic creatures. She had her date today, I wonder how it’s going…
“Hey, Hunter. Are you okay?” Kari asked snapping me out of my own thoughts.
“Huh? Oh, yeah. Just thinking about someone— I mean something,” I replied, quickly changing my reply.
She tilted her head at me, “Someone?” she questioned curiously.
“I meant something, not someone.” I lied.
I was thinking about Maria.. my thoughts seem to always find it’s way to her.
“Mhm, okay. Let’s go check out the turtles?” she asked with a smile.
“I guess so.” I replied, walking ahead of her to the turtles.
It’s kinda sad, Karina’s trying really hard to be close to me. But, I don’t want to be close to her, not again at most. I kept conversations with her today at a minimum.
“You found Dory earlier, but I found Squirt! Oh my gosh, it’s so cute~” Kari said happily watching the turtles.
Again, all we did was look at the aquatic creatures. We had planned to eat outside of the aquarium, but that was only when we were done looking at all the aquatic creatures that were here.
“I’m getting hungry. Can we head to the bathroom first then get going?” she asked.
“Sure.” I replied, leading the way to the bathroom.
“I’ll be right back,” she said heading inside while I sat down and waited for her outside.
The person I see coming out of the girl’s bathroom in minutes after Karina was inside was none other than.. Maria.
“Oh, Hunter!” Maria greeted with a smile. “What are you doing here?” she asked.
“Hey Mari, and I’m hanging out with a friend here. We’re gonna go out and eat soon though,” I replied looking over at her.
She sat down beside me and nodded, it was silent until she spoke again seconds later saying, “These creatures are so beautiful. Especially the very colorful fishes at the entrance,” she mentioned with a smile.
“I had a feeling you would enjoy looking at these beautiful creatures.” I chuckled, a small smile appearing on my face as I did.
“Well then, you know me pretty well.” she replied, chuckling along with me as well.
It’s only natural for equally beautiful things to enjoy seeing other beautiful things, is my opinion on why she enjoyed looking at them.
“Not enough,” I replied laughing a bit. “Where’s Jason? I’m guessing he was the one who brought you on a date here?” I questioned.
“Yeah, he’s in the bathroom.” she replied.
“Ah, I see.” I replied nodding a bit.
Soon enough, Jason came out.
“Babygirl, let’s—” Jason paused and noticed me. “Oh, Hunter. What a nice surprise to see you here,” he said a sarcastic tone in his voice.
“I can’t say the same to you.” I replied looking at him with a mean smile as he returned it.
“Ahem, well, me and my babygirl were just about to plan to go out and eat. So bye,” Jason said wrapping an arm around her.
“We’ll see you some time!” Mari added as well waving before walking off with Jason.
Soon, the day came to an end and I dropped Karina off to her house. If anything, I was relieved her date was most likely over too.
Today was Sunday, and honestly I had no plans but to just sleep, eat, and watch tv. But before doing all that.. I took a nice, long hot shower. It was morning, and it was also cold as hell.
Right after I finished changing into my PJ’s, the first thing I went for was my phone. I checked my messages and received a text from my boyfriend saying, “Good morning beautiful”
“Goooood morning :)” I texted back with a small smile.
And then I scrolled passed my Instagram notifications and saw I missed a call from Hunter, so I called him back.
“Hello?” Hunter answered the phone.
“You called me earlier?” I replied in the form of a question.
“Oh yeah, do you wanna go get some breakfast with me?” he asked.
“What time?” I asked.
“Uh, now?” he replied. “You don’t get a say in this, I’m picking you up right now!” he added.
“What?! But I need to change!” I replied.
“You really don’t, it’s still morning. No one’s gonna judge you for wearing pajamas!” he replied laughing a bit.
“I’m getting the feeling you will.” I replied.
“Eh, we’ll see. I’ll be there in 10, better get ready now!” he stated, I was gonna speak but he hung up before I had the chance too.
Don’t you just hate when people hang up when you didn’t get to say what you were gonna say yet?
The first thing I did was blow dry my hair and brushed it. Then after that I brushed my teeth, I checked the time by the time I was finished brushing my teeth.
“Maybe I have some time to change out of these pajamas..” I said exiting the bathroom in my room, and once I made it to my closet I heard a honk outside. Damnit!
I groaned softly and just wore fuzzy socks and my bunny slippers as I headed out and locked the door on my way out. Yes, bunny slippers.
“Huh, I like your pajamas! Plain black t-shirt and pizza pants,” Hunter chuckled.
I got into the car, “See, I knew you were gonna make fun of me!” I replied buckling up.
“I can’t help it, the facial expressions you make when I do is hilarious.” he replied.
“You’re actually dressed and ready to go out, won’t you feel embarrassed going out to breakfast with a girl in silly pajamas?” I asked.
He glanced over at me with a small chuckle and smile, “Nope.” he replied before he focused on keeping his eyes on the road.
The radio was on, but honestly I was so hungry to even sing along.
“No jamming out?” Hunter asked.
“Nope, because I’m grumpy. And I’m grumpy because I’m hungry.” I replied.
“Alright, alright. We’ll get your food soon.” he replied, soon enough we arrived at iHop!
The person showed us to our seats with the menus, I just got the pancakes with butter and syrup with a side of hash browns and for the drink, a strawberry smoothie.
But once the food arrived, you best believe I ate immediately! Of course, I saved my strawberry smoothie for last. Soon, the both of us finished eating and we were left with nothing but our drinks.
“Alright, what’s the real reason of me being here?” I asked looking at him taking a sip from my smoothie.
“You said I know you well, and I said not enough.” I replied.
“Okay.. what do you wanna know?” I asked with a small smile.
“What’s your favorite color?” he asked.
“Baby blue,” I replied with a content smile.
“Why?” he asked.
“Eh? I have to have a reason?” I asked.
“Yes.” he replied, I sighed.
I tried thinking of a reason why.
“Because baby blue looks like a calm color.” I replied with a smile.
“So is pink.” he replied.
“Pink is too girly!” I replied.
“Seems to suit you well,” he chuckled.
“How about you?” I asked.
“Black, because it’s a dark color.” he replied.
Basically, back and forth we asked each other simple questions before getting into any personal questions.
“What’s your happiest childhood memory?” I asked, this question is what intrigued me, I always loved hearing about people’s childhood memories, they were all just so sweet.
Hunter stayed quiet for a bit before answering, but he didn’t hesitate to answer.
“When my family was still complete.” he replied in a audible yet sad tone.
