Prologue

What's your biggest fear? For me, it's fire. I know, seems like a strange thing to be afraid of, but when you've watched almost everyone you get close to die in a fire, you start to fear it.
I lost my parents the day I was born in a fire that killed almost everyone that was in the hospital we were in. After that, I was put into foster homes, each only lasting at the most two years before the house would catch on fire and kill them. Weird thing is, I never got hurt in the fires, even though I was there for every single one.
After the first three couples that died because of me, I stopped getting placed and just stayed in the orphanage. It's not that people didn't want me, they did, but I, lets say, convinced them other wise. I'll explain in a bit.
When I was 10 years old, I 'convinced' the people at the orphanage that I was 18 and left and started living on my own and have been for the last 6 years.
I know what you're thinking, 'How can a 10 year old girl convince someone they're 18 and then live alone?' Well, I'm not a normal girl. I don't know why or how but I have powers. I can't control peoples' minds, but I can strongly suggest things and people most of the time do it, even if it is convincing someone I was 18 when I was 10. Oh yeah, I can also control the elements. I should probably mention that.
