Earth shattering, time had changed drastically as I stood there watching the scene play out before me lost in the crowd hidden behind those who didn't dare say a word. She was his heart for years but he wouldn't tell her so when he moved he broke her, shattered her into pieces. He was her best friend but she wanted more but the moment he left her to play in the NHL, he destroyed her. Benjamin left the small town of Turkey, Texas when he got drafted into the NHL to play for the Lancers in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. Holly watched her best friend and man she secretly loved move away to make it in the big leagues. But that wasn't what hurt the most, Benjamin became a hero the day before he left but with a deep dark secret attached to it leaving Holly to question everything she thought she knew about him. He may have left her broken and destroyed but he also left her full of questions and anger. Holly lost her best friend the day before he moved to Canada because of something he hid from her and the town, letting those believe he was a hero. She vowed to never give her heart to another especially not Benjamin but then again things happen for a reason.
