Tear In My Heart

VIII. Boyfriend

The next morning, I woke up with Madison’s arms around me instead of mine around him and I immediately knew that I liked being the little spoon. I’m a sucker for being cuddled.

“Good morning my beautiful boyfriend,” Madison’s husky morning voice said from behind me as his lips met the back of my neck right below my hairline. I smiled. Boyfriend. I like the sound of that.

“Good morning,” I said as I turned around in his arms before I placed a quick kiss on his lips.

“I can wake up to this every morning,” he mumbled into my lips.

“Me t-” I started but he pulled me back into the kiss before his hands roughly grabbed my thighs and wrapped my legs around him before he quickly sat up so that I was straddling him. His hands slowly moved up and down my thighs before they made their way to my bum.

A question was burning and my mind and as much as I hated to end this moment, I pulled away. “Mads, I have a question for you,” I said as he began kissing my jawline, momentarily filling my mind with static.

“Hmm?” He hummed after I didn’t continue on, pulling me back to reality.

“Are you dominant or submissive?” I blurted, getting straight to the point. It was hard telling with Madison. One minute he’d have you pinned against the wall kissing your brains out and the next he’ll be a soft teddy bear demanding you cuddle him.

“Depends on how I’m feeling in the moment,” he shrugged then smirked. “And luckily for you I am feeling very dominant this morning.” And to prove his point, he kissed me again, knocking me off his lap and trapping me between the bed and his body.

I wrapped my arms around his neck and my legs around his waist, earning an aroused groan from deep within his chest. I smiled against his lips before in one swift motion I flipped us so that he was on bottom and me on top all without breaking the kiss. Wrestling with the boys when I was younger really did pay off later in life.

I pinned his hands above his head and pressed my body flush against his so there’d be no escape. “Luckily for you, so am I,” I quipped as I broke the kiss, my face mere inches from his.
He smiled as I brought a thumb to his bottom lip, its weight pulling his lip slightly down to the point I saw black ink poking out. Curious, I pushed his soft bottom lip all the way down to reveal a “choke me” tattoo on the inside of his lip.

“Choke me?” I said, raising a questioning eyebrow. “Real classy, Madison.”

“Only for you, babe,” he smiled before he cranes his neck up to place another kiss on my lips, teasing me by holding his lips just above mine, lightly touching them to mine. His smile widened before he lightly ran his tongue up my bottom lip, gently across my teeth, and up to my top lip before he hungrily kissed me. To say I was aroused would be the biggest understatement of the year.

I groaned against his soft, controlling lips. “God, I can’t get enough of you,” he muttered into my lips, his hands roughly feeling me over.

Dominant Madison was back.

I allowed him to gain control and for his hands to scandalously travel down the side of my ribs down the side of my abdomen and down into my pants, his hands flirtatiously resting between my shorts and my underwear.

“Mads,” I sighed into his lips before he started kissing down my neck.

“Hm?” He hummed, causing me to open up my mouth to say something before I was cut off by a familiar ringtone. I groaned as I pulled away, only for Madison’s soft lips to collide with mine once more. “Let it go to voicemail,” he muttered into my lips before kissing me again. “I’ve waited too long to have you to myself.”

“I wish I could, Mads. Honestly,” I said as I pulled way causing him to pout as I picked my phone up off the nightstand, “but if I don’t answer, she’ll kill me.”

“Who-”

“Hey, Nona,” I answered, putting as much sleep and drowsiness into my voice as possible.
“Noah, where are you? The school’s been blowing up my phone looking for you!” Nona snapped, causing me to take the phone away from my ear and look at the number displayed on it. I was an hour late.

“Oh, sorry Nona I...came down with something last night,” I quickly lied. “I’ve been coming down with it for a while and it finally got me last night.”

“Oh, I’m so sorry, miele,” she said, her voice instantly softening. “Where are you now? I’ll come home early if you-”

“No, Nona, I’m fine,” I said with a slight chuckle. “I forgot my keys so Madison decided to take care of me,” I said, shooting him a grin as his name slid past my lips.

“Are you sure? I’d be glad to-”

“Don’t worry, Miss. Bruno. Noah’s in wonderful hands!” Madison interrupted as he wrapped his arms around me and warmth spread throughout my body everywhere he touched.

“Alright,” she reluctantly gave in. “I’ll be home later on tonight.”

“Okay, Nona. Have fun.”

“Thank you, Noah.” Then the line went dead.

“Looks like I have you to myself all day,”

Madison smirked as he laid down.

“Not all day,” I countered as I laid down next to him with my head on his chest. “I have football today.”

Madison groaned as he tightly wrapped his arms around me refusing to let go. “I want you all to myself,” he whined, causing me to smile before I pressed a gentle kiss to his broad chest.

“Then you better make every minute count,” I smirked, causing him to smile before his lips met mine again.

“You know I will,” he whispered, momentarily breaking the kiss before he placed one more quick one on my lips before jumping off the bed. “Let’s make some breakfast, I’m starving,” Madison yawned as he stretched, his muscles flexing as he moved.

“Let me,” I offered, causing him to raise an eyebrow. “Come on, Mads. It’s only fair that I treat you after you treated me very well last night and a few moments ago. Not to mention you’re taking care of this sick little boy,” I said as I stood up, a slight smirk on my features.

“Fine,” he agreed, causing me to grin before I grabbed his hand and led him out of his room and into the kitchen where I instructed him to sit on the counter while I started working, earning a few whistles as I moved and comments about how my butt looked good in my boxers.

After a while, I slide the rest of the finished bacon onto a plate next to the sausages in addition to the breakfast casserole I’d made. I used a spoon and careful snagged a piece off the edge before raising it to my lips. I sighed as it touched my taste buds. It was perfect. Without thinking I quickly got more, greedily taking it in, not caring that not all of it completely made it into my mouth.

“It smells good in here, babe,” Madison observed walking back into the kitchen after his shower. I could tell his hair was still damp. “Can I try some?” He questioned, motioning to the casserole and I nodded, but before I could gather more on my spoon from him, he quickly grabbed me face and messily kissed me, collecting all of the stray food from my lips and taking it in as his own. He moaned, pulling away. “Delicious,” he smirked, causing me to roll my eyes and playfully pushed him away, not that it did any good. “What? You can’t blame a guy for wanting to kiss his incredibly hot boyfriend, can you?” He asked as he wrapped his arms around my waist and rested his chin on my shoulder as I continued adding a few final touches to the meal, tingles rushing throughout my body at the word “boyfriend”.

“Whatever Madison,” I brushed off, “but try this for real. I want to know what you think.” I dipped the spoon back into the casserole before I carefully brought it over my shoulder and into Madison’s mouth, waiting anxiously as he slowly chewed and swallowed.

“Wow Noah it’s...how exactly do I say this?” He said, thought evident in his eyes causing my heart to beat a tad faster. “It’s the best thing I think I’ve ever tasted,” he grinned before he placed another quick peck on my lips before pulling away. “Correction, your lips are the best thing I’ve ever tasted, but that casserole sure makes a close second. Like an extremely close second.”

“Whatever, Mads. Help yourself, and don’t play with my emotions like that,” I chastised before I delivered a semi-weak punch to his shoulder, causing him to wince nonetheless.

“Oh he likes it physical, does he?” Madison joked and I had to refrain from hitting him with the spoon in my hand.

“Just get food,” I ordered, causing him to chuckle before doing so. We both filled our plates before I allowed Madison to led me to his living room and sit me down on his lap with my back pressed against his chest and his arms wrapped around me so he could use my lap as his table. It felt so right and I never wanted him to let me go.

“What do you want to watch, hun?” He questioned flipping through Netflix categories.
“It doesn’t matter to me,” I shrugged as I ate a piece of bacon.

“Are you sure about that Noah? As soon as we go down this road there’s no turning back,” he joked, causing me to turn toward him and smile.

“Hit me with your best shot, Mads.”

“If you say so,” he said in a singsong voice before he flicked until it landed on a familiar title. The Vampire Diaries. Of course. Every perfect boy had his fault.

“Oh Mads-”

“You said I could choose so I did,” Madison interrupted before he pushed play on Season One Episode One. I sighed. Dear Lord please help me.

“No Madison I want to see what happens next!” I protested as Madison turned off the TV. The Salvatore brothers enamored me and their supernatural world enchanted me.

“I can’t let you do that, babe,” Madison shook his head. “I don’t have much time with you left today and I fear you like the Salvatores more than you like me.”

“Impossible,” I reassured before I kissed him.

“I don’t know,” he said once we pulled apart, “I think I need a little bit more convincing.”
I rolled my eyes but kissed him once more nonetheless. It was so crazy to me that a boy is met less than two weeks ago quickly became such an important piece of my life and the main reason that I smiled.

He quickly moved his grip so that my legs were wrapped around him before he effortlessly picked me up and walked toward his bedroom, light sighs escaping my lips as his lips found the hickeys he’d left on me last night. How was I going to hide these from the boys? As soon as we were in his room, he pressed me against the wall before he raised his eyes to mine. “How is it possible that I met you such a short while ago but you’re already the most important person in my life?” He questioned as he brought a hand up to my cheek. “You’ve captured me in ways I hadn’t thought possible, yet there is still so much to learn about you.” He gently caressed my cheek as he spoke and I leaned into his touch. How exactly could I tell him I felt the same? Actually, I didn’t need to tell him. I’ll show him. So in response, I cupped his cheek and pulled him into another kiss, but this one was gentle instead of intense and wild.

He smiled once we pulled away. “God, you’re so hot.”

“That’s my line,” I said with a fake pout, causing his smile to grow before he carried me to the bed and gently set me down then glanced at the clock.

“Go take a shower. I’d say I’d join you, but I know how much you love your football and I don’t want to make you late,” Madison instructed as he threw himself on the bed next to me. “Then I’ll take you to get your uniform then I’ll drop you off at practice, okay?”
I nodded despite the fact that I didn’t want this day to end. I just wanted to stay with Madison and shut the outside world out, but alas, I had no such option.

I quickly showered and Madison gave me a pair of underwear, sweatpants, and a Columbia University sweatshirt that he said I could keep which made me smile. “Come on,” I instructed as I laced my fingers with his and used my other hand to scoop up my dirty clothes. “I only have an hour.”

“Alright,” Madison said as he used his free hand to snag my keys. “But I’m driving.” I didn’t argue. We walked down the stairs in a comfortable silence and I was thankful no one was in the well with us because I didn’t want to let his hand go, but at the same time, I wasn’t ready for the world to know about me just yet. Know about us. But it wasn’t because I was ashamed, but rather because I was scared.

Once we made it to my car, our hands broke apart as we went to our sides of the car. I threw my clothes in the back and slid into the passenger seat as Madison slid in and jammed the key in the ignition, sparking the car to life. “Do you remember where I live?” I questioned as he pulled out of the parking lot. He hummed with a nod in response as he put his hand on my knee.

“When’s the next time you’re free?” Madison asked.

“Outside of work?” I questioned and he nodded. “I have to catch up on homework today after practice, but I’m free tomorrow and all Fridays, Saturdays after practice and Sundays after church.”

“I want to take you out tomorrow then,” he announced. “We don’t have to be intimate in public if you don’t want to, but I want to take my boyfriend out. Show him off a little. Get to know him better. Would you like that?” He asked and I nodded, lightly biting my bottom lip as excitement coursed through my veins.
“Good,” he smiled before he kissed the back of my hand and ran his thumb over my knuckles. My God. Having a boyfriend is so amazing, why didn’t I get one sooner? Why didn’t I let Madison in sooner?

“What is it about football, anyway?” Madison suddenly asked as we passed the fields. “I mean, I know why you enjoy writing, but why do you love football, just out of curiosity?”
I swallowed. “Um, my parents inspired me to start.”

“If you don’t mind me asking, where are they? I’ve met your Nona but I’ve never seen your parents.” We stopped at a red light and he looked at me.

“They’re dead,” I sighed.

“Oh God, Noah. I’m sorry,” Madison apologized, but I shook my head.

“It’s fine,” I shrugged. “They were on their way to my game in Florida and they got run off the road and down a little cliff,” I explained, my heart squeezing as I remembered the day. “They were killed on impact and they never caught the prick who did it. I didn’t know until after my game had finished, but by then it was too late.”

“Oh, baby,” Madison cooed as he brought his hand up to my cheek and gently swept the moisture from my eyes I didn’t realize was there.
“I’m fine, Mads,” I sighed. “But for football, I play for them. I want to make them proud wherever they are.”

“You are making them proud,” Madison whispered before he kissed my forehead. I nodded in response and allowed his lips to linger there for a few moments before he pulled away just as the light turned green. “Are you alright?” He asked despite the cars behind him starting to honk.

“Mads, there are people behind-”

“I don’t care about them, Noah. I’ll sit here all day if I have to. I care about you. Are you okay?”

His words brought a smile to my face and I nodded. “I just fine, Mads. Thank you,” he smiled before he pressed another kiss to the back of my hand before he put his foot on the gas, shooting us across just before the next red light hit, leaving the other cars behind. It felt nice having someone other than Connor know why I played football and it felt even better feeling my boyfriend’s lips against the back of my hand every few moments.

If only this moment could last.
