Chapter 10

It’s not easy to forgive and move on when you feel hurt or confused by a friend, but offering forgiveness with a heart full of understanding rather than a fist full of resentment is one of the most amazing things you can do for someone, and yourself.

Jace Hindrix

We all stood there in silence after Melody and Ramsey exited out of my house. I was confused as to why she was crying and Cherri was upset. It all happened so quickly and from what I heard, It had something to do with a field trip. I marched upstairs and knocked on my door. Cherri opened it, face stained with mascara and tears.

I couldn’t deny that even at her worst, she looked her best to me.

“Care to share Cher?” She opened the door wider and I slipped in and closed it behind me.

“No, not really. I rather leave the past in the past.”

She sat in the middle of my bed and I decided to sit on the foot of it.

“You can’t heal what you keep hidden.”

She rolled her eyes and sighed .

“Jace, I appreciate you trying but when it comes to me, trying doesn’t help me.....I’m a lost cause.”

I tapped my fingers on my knee impatiently. My phone buzzed in my pocket and I fished it out to see that the guys text me saying that they deceided to go ahead and dip. I really didn’t blame them, all this drama just randomly spewed out and us guys aren’t use to that.

I placed my phone back in my pocket and looked up to see Cherri staring at me with blank eyes.

“You just might be what I need Hindrix, you might be the extinguisher to this everlasting flame I have.”

She broke eye contact with my and hugged her knees to her chest.

“I thought you was a lost cause?”

A bitter chuckle escaped her lips and a shaky breath came from within her.

“That’s what I thought, it’s what I’ve been told.” She looked up at me with glossy eyes “It’s what I believe.”

I moved towards her on the bed and cupped her face in my hands. Her body began to tremble on my bed and tears flowed freely down her face.

I rubbed small circles on her cheek with my thumb and she instantly calmed down.

“Lay with me?”

She looked at me with her soft eyes and I honestly wondered if I could ever say no to her.
